Accounting Assistant I

Summary

We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Accounting Assistant with 2 to 5 years of relevant experience to join our growing finance team. In this role, you will balance foundational bookkeeping tasks with critical administrative support. You will work directly with our business team to maintain accurate financial records, handle vendor communication, and keep our office operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable, manage accounts receivable, and prepare bank deposits.
• Assist with reconciling bank statements, credit cards, and vendor accounts monthly to ensure ledger accuracy.
• Maintain digital and physical financial filing systems, manage mail, and order office supplies.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for billing inquiries, resolving invoice discrepancies promptly.
• Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports
  
• Assist with inventory physical counts and fixed asset management across all facilities. 
  
• Assist and manage vendor communication for planning, documentation, and raw material purchases. 
• Gather financial documentation, pull receipts, and organize files to assist accounting team during tax season and audits.
• Perform miscellaneous accounting and finance tasks as assigned

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 2–5 years of dedicated experience in an accounting assistant, bookkeeping, or administrative-financial role.
• Strong hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or other ERP systems) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Proven track record of high-accuracy data entry, strong organizational skills, and strict attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for professional interaction with vendors and internal teams.
• High school diploma required; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting is a strong plus.

Physical Demands

May be required to stand or sit for extended periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, for computer related activities and other tasks.

 

Work Environment

Work performed in a combination of manufacturing and office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually low.
