About the Position

Job Title: LDRP RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Days+Call Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Must-Have: Ability to read and interpret fetal strips, critical thinking, previous travel experience, ability to float to Medsurg and ER as needed. Description: Department: LDRP RN Certifications Required: BLS (Preferred: ACLS, NRP, STABLE). No clinical involvement. Total L&D Beds: 15 (7 L&D, 8 Postpartum). Total OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections: 1. Births per month: 58. Following AWHONN guidelines for ratios: 1:1 for pit, mag, or insulin drips. Couplet care: 1:3. Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Mix, mainly obstetric/neonates, hypertension, GDM, avoiding delivery under 36 weeks. RNs required to titrate drips: Yes. Common titratable and/or set rate drips: pitocin, insulin, magnesium. Charge Nurse on each shift: Yes. Charge Nurse takes an assignment: Yes. Support staff include CNA for vitals, paperwork, patient assistance. Anesthesia in-house 24/7: No. RNs required to read their own strips: Yes. Monitoring system brand: Philips. EFM System: Traceview/PIP. EMR system used: Meditech. Shift scheduling: No self-scheduling, block scheduling allowed. Weekend requirements: Every other weekend. Holiday requirements: Every other holiday. Call or standby requirement: Depends on staffing. Floating requirements: Yes, to Medsurg and ER as needed. Scrub color/dress code: Maroon scrubs provided.
