Responsibilities for Dietary Cook

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus, dietary orders, and portion requirements
• Ensure meals are prepared in accordance with residents’ nutritional needs and preferences
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection prevention guidelines
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment
• Assist with food preparation, meal service, and tray accuracy as needed
• Monitor food temperatures, storage, and kitchen sanitation to ensure compliance
• Work collaboratively with the dietary team and nursing staff to meet resident meal needs
• Ensure quality, consistency, and timeliness of meal service
• Assist with cleaning equipment, workstations, and kitchen areas after meal service
• Support a positive dining experience for residents through quality food preparation and teamwork

Qualifications for Dietary Cook

• Prior cooking or food service experience required
• Long-term care or healthcare dietary experience preferred
• Knowledge of kitchen safety, food handling, and sanitation practices
• Ability to follow dietary guidelines and menu instructions
• Strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude
• Reliable, punctual, and compassionate
