Restaurant Manager

Restaurant Manager MBK Senior Living is looking for a Restaurant Manager to lead the dining service for residents, ensuring high-quality, reliable service while fostering a collaborative, supportive team environment. Schedule Full Time, Tuesday‑Saturday (11am‑7pm) Job Summary Direct the restaurant service, assign wait staff to sections, seat residents, provide beverage service, enforce dress code, and assist with all restaurant operations as needed. Provide direction to hosts and servers, plan and coordinate special events, and maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming dining environment. Responsibilities Recruit, interview, hire, and train hosts and servers. Direct hosts and servers in daily operations and cleaning of the restaurant and server areas. Determine staffing needs for the department. Perform financial duties, including managing the monthly operating budget and participating in the development of the annual budget. Partner with the Executive Chef on menu development, menu presentation, plate waste studies, and monitor meal delivery timeliness. Communicate policies and mentor team members. Ensure the restaurant is clean and suitable for meal service before service begins. Promptly report or address unsafe conditions or equipment issues. Verify that each resident’s meal is accounted for. Delegate service tasks to servers. Recognize and understand department needs and report concerns to the Assistant General Manager or General Manager. Assist with preparing meals for special events. Store food and supplies properly and use cleaners and hazardous materials according to department procedure. Promote team member recognition via INSPIRE and leadership awards programs. Attend and participate in training, in‑services, and team member meetings as requested. Implement all emergency plans, including fire, earthquake, and other disasters; assist with monthly training and yearly evacuation plans for team members and residents. Perform other duties as assigned. Serve as a coach and mentor for other positions within the department. Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of business and management principles, strategic planning, leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources. Understanding of customer and personal service principles, assessing customer needs, meeting quality standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction. Ability to lead, demonstrating awareness of team dynamics, inventory management, safety, cleanliness, and budgeting. Skilled communicator, effectively conveying information verbally and in writing. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Experience handling food and practicing proper sanitation methods. Experience managing team members in a restaurant or dining setting. Physical Demands The role requires frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, and manual dexterity; the minimum weight to lift is 50 pounds.
