Nurse Supervisor LPN

1255 W Silverbell Rd, Orion Township, MI 48359 Villa at Silverbell Estates is seeking a Nurse Supervisor LPN to join our team. The role provides leadership and oversight to nursing staff during non‑business hours, ensuring appropriate staffing, workflow, and quality patient care. The Nurse Supervisor is the highest on‑site authority after hours, making timely decisions, resolving clinical challenges, and maintaining care standards. They support staff development and coordinate with other departments. Duties and Responsibilities Provide oversight and leadership to on‑duty nursing staff during non‑business hours. Ensure proper staffing, monitor workflow, and assist with priority patient care tasks. Address staff concerns and promote a positive work environment. Act as the highest‑ranking on‑site authority during after‑hours and weekends. Make timely decisions related to patient care, staffing, safety, and operations. Collaborate with other departments and elevate issues when necessary. Offer clinical expertise and support in resolving patient care challenges. Assist with complex cases or difficult family situations. Handle call‑ins or last‑minute staffing changes, ensuring coverage and continuity of care. Conduct frequent rounds to monitor resident/patient conditions and ensure nursing personnel are performing assignments in accordance with nursing standards. Give and receive the nursing report upon shift start and end. Maintain assigned work areas (e.g., nurse station, medication cart, medication room) in a clean and sanitary manner. Ensure medication rooms and carts are locked as required. Monitor supplies and place orders as needed. Complete administrative duties such as medical forms, reports, evaluations, and charting. Develop and participate in in‑service education and training programs for new personnel. Coordinate with all departments to ensure continuity and collaboration of services. Provide required resident assessments and interventions, reviewing care plans for appropriateness. Document all pertinent data as required by Medicare, Medicaid, company standards and policies. Ensure direct nursing care is provided by qualified staff. Attend and participate in in‑service classes, performance improvement committees, and other meetings as assigned. Perform any other duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to multi‑task and remain calm under stress. Analytical and problem‑solving skills. Ability to organize, prioritize work, and delegate to others. Familiarity with infection control standards, policies, and procedures. Adaptable to a flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel. Positive attitude toward working with short‑ and long‑term care residents and the elderly. Basic computer knowledge and willingness to learn company applications including Microsoft Office. Education and Experience Nursing degree or diploma from an accredited college or university. Current license to practice in Michigan as a Licensed Practical Nurse. At least one year of supervisory experience preferred. Long‑term care and MDS experience preferred. Physical Requirements Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, and ability to distinguish smells and temperatures; may be performed with or without mechanical devices. No significant exposure to environmental hazards; must adhere to safety standards and protocols. Meet all health requirements as needed.
