UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital is looking for a passionate Crisis Clinician to join our team at Beaver Crisis Services! Beaver Crisis Services is the premiere provider of crisis services in Beaver County including crisis phone services, mobile crisis team, as well as our walk-in center. Beaver Crisis is a partnership between UPMC Western Psychiatric Hospital, and Beaver County.

Under the direction of the Crisis Clinician Supervisor, the Crisis Clinician Associate is responsible for providing clinical services to consumers experiencing a self-identified crisis. Primary responsibility is responding to crisis related situations from community professionals and persons. This includes, but is not limited to, answering questions, obtaining clinical information, scheduling outpatient evaluations, responding to telephone crisis, de-escalation, and documentation of all duties previously mentioned.

All candidates must be able to work varying shifts: daylight, evening, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Crisis Clinicians are Sign on Bonus eligible!

$3,500 with a 2 year commitment

$5,000 with a 3 year commitment

Higher level titles and rate of pay may be considered for this role depending on candidate's education level and years of experience.

Responsibilities:

· Complete Crisis Clinician orientation.

· Manage shift caseload with guidance from Lead Clinician.

· Build skills in assessment, de-escalation, documentation, and motivational interviewing.

· Use the Electronic Medical Record for information gathering and documentation.

· Provide person-centered, strength-based supportive counseling.

· Work independently and efficiently in a crisis setting.

· Support consumers and coordinate appropriate referrals.

· Consult with Clinician II on disposition plans.

· Advocate for Crisis Residential or Walk-In program admissions when appropriate.

· Meet documentation standards and complete required paperwork.

· Conduct face-to-face crisis assessments.

· Respond to consumer, community, and support-system calls.

· Manage crisis situations using positive intervention approaches.

· Participate in trainings, staff meetings, and interdisciplinary activities.

· Complete case reviews.

· Maintain and support a safe, therapeutic milieu.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work.

Other fields of study may be considered with coursework of at least 12 credits in human services and/or relevant mental health experience. (Preferred other fields of study include: Social Work, Psychology, Gerontology, Sociology, Anthropology, Criminal Justice, Theology, Nursing, Counseling/Guidance, Education)

ATTENTION: A COPY OF YOUR BACHELOR'S OR MASTER'S TRANSCRIPTS MUST BE ATTACHED FOR CONSIDERATION.

Consistent ability to respond calmly and effectively, using good clinical judgment to both psychiatric and medical emergencies.

Recovery-oriented interpersonal relations.

Ability to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and to assume on call responsibilities.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

· Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

· Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCMC)

· Driver's License

· Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting with renewal

· Act 33 with renewal

· Act 34 with renewal

· Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
