Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse
This is a 13-week contract position.
Scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation. No guarantee of hours.
The Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is a 15-bed unit that includes a step-down ICU and telemetry services. Nurses will provide primary nursing care, telemetry monitoring, and fingerstick blood sugar checks while ensuring high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver primary nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit.
- Monitor telemetry and assess telemetry strips.
- Perform fingerstick blood sugar tests.
- Utilize Meditech charting and manage medications with Pyxis.
- Provide BIPAP therapy and continuous cardiac monitoring.
- Float to other acute units as needed, including Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, and ER.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- At least 1 year of hospital acute care experience within the last year.
- Progressive Care and telemetry experience preferred.
- Hawaii RN license is required by the start of the assignment.
- ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications preferred.
