Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Intern

Position Details: 1st Shift (Monday - Friday) Flexible Schedule Core Responsibilities Working under the HSE Coordinator: Assists with administering the local HSE programs, helping to ensure HSE compliance Participates in the HSE meeting and inspections Conducts training Assists with the preparation of applications for environmental permits Collects data and prepares HSE reports pertaining to air emissions, hazardous waste, storm water and accident/incident reports Collaborates with engineering to assess risk, evaluate new processes, and review facility layouts for potential HSE faults Collects data to analyze key measures of performance and identifies deficiencies in day-to-day operations Assists site management team with growth and continuous improvement/Lean activities. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to work in a manufacturing environment Ability to schedule and organize time and tasks effectively Ability to work in a challenging and schedule driven environment Ability to work well with others and complete assignments on time Previous experience in a manufacturing or HSE role is a plus Experience with MS Office preferred Education Requirements High school diploma or GED required Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university as a rising junior or senior pursuing a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Safety Management, Occupational safety or related degree Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
