Physician -Internal Medicine

We are seeking an experienced full-time Staff Physician specializing in Internal Medicine for the Health Equity and Value-Based Care Faculty position at a pioneering Value-Based Care Clinic in Dallas, Texas. The chosen candidate will serve as core faculty for the Internal Medicine Health Equity Track, providing high-quality, evidence-based, population-centered care and mentoring Internal Medicine residents within a collaborative academic environment focused on health equity, quality improvement, and community-centered medicine.

Teaching & Educational Leadership Responsibilities

• Act as core faculty for the Internal Medicine Health Equity Track.
• Supervise Internal Medicine residents in a clinic-based experiential learning environment.
• Deliver real-time clinical teaching covering:
  • Primary care
  • Population health management
  • Principles of value-based care
  • Health equity-oriented practice
• Educate residents to incorporate:
  • Social determinants of health into clinical practice
  • Community-engaged care methodologies
  • Equity-centered clinical decision-making frameworks
• Engage in journal clubs, lecture series, case conferences, resident workshops.
• Mentor residents in quality improvement projects, health equity research initiatives, scholarly activities and projects.
• Collaborate with residency and program leadership to enhance and align the curriculum with ACGME competencies.
• Provide both formative and summative feedback to foster residents’ professional development.

Direct Patient Care Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive Internal Medicine services within the Value-Based Care Clinic.
• Employ evidence-based guidelines and value-based care methodologies.
• Contribute to the establishment and refinement of value-based standard operating procedures for the clinic.
• Utilize population health analysis tools, risk stratification techniques, and care coordination strategies to improve patient outcomes and mitigate healthcare disparities.
• Identify and address non-medical social determinants impacting patient care.
• Provide coordinated, team-based care in collaboration with interdisciplinary colleagues, including:
  • Care managers
  • Pharmacists
  • Social workers
  • Behavioral health specialists
  • Community partners

Qualifications

• Completion of an ACGME or AMA accredited residency program.
• Board Eligible or Board Certified in the appropriate specialty.
• Active Texas Medical License, or willingness to obtain one.
• At least one professional reference within the last 24 months.
• Clean malpractice and license history.
• Experience in medical education, health equity, population health, or value-based care.
• Strong interest in resident education and academic medicine.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care environment.

Certification Requirements

• Board Certification in relevant specialty.

State License Requirements

• Texas Medical License.
