Plant Operator

We are currently seeking an experienced Plant Operator to join our Daytona, FL team. The Plant Operator reports directly to the Plant Supervisor and operates a stationary or portable batching plant in mixing cement materials and aggregates to produce concrete. Responsibilities Adjusts controls for required mixture of the materials. Operates controls that admit materials separately from storage hoppers or mixing bins. Observes indicator that show when proper amount of materials have been made. Discharges materials from bin into truck or other carrier or mixer. Performs other related duties. Assists in maintenance and report of plant equipment. May perform other related duties. Answers telephone, radio, and takes and inputs orders. The job duties described herein are not exhaustive and may be supplemented. Qualifications Required Skills & Abilities Must possess the consistent ability to work overtime (nights & weekends). Must be able to work in an environment where you may be exposed to extremes of hot or cold weather. Job requires the following: climbing, stooping, bending, squatting, lifting, stretching, pushing, pulling, vibration, twisting, kneeling, standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and working at heights of 50-80 feet. Requires occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. Must possess a current Class B Commercial Driver License in good standing. Must be willing and able to drive to different plants/sites based upon business needs. Required Skills / Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum one-year batching experience in a ready-mix concrete environment. Must have a thorough knowledge of the automated batch plant operation. Experience with Command Alkon system experience preferred. Must have (or must be able to obtain as soon as possible) ACI Level I Field Testing Technician and Florida DOT Batch Certification. Must have basic math skills. Excellent interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
