Summary To deliver individualized quality nursing care to cancer patients and families in accordance with established hospital guidelines, nursing professional practice model, nursing care standards and policies and in accordance with ANA code of ethics and external regulatory agencies. We are seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our 22 bed-medical observation unit, that provides exceptional care for our oncology patients requiring short-term hospitalization, ongoing assessment, symptom management, and treatment. Hours: 3 12-hour Shifts and some weekends (PRN). The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate expertise in: Caring for patients with a variety of acute medical conditions, Symptom management and patient comfort, Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills, Effective communication skills with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team, Ability to prioritize care in a fast-paced observation environment, Proficiency in admission, discharge processes, and patient education, Strong teamwork and collaboration across disciplines, Excellent interpersonal skills to foster trust and rapport. 1 year of inpatient hospital experience. Medical Surgery experience as a registered nurse. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive assessments and ongoing monitoring of patients requiring observation and short-term medical management. Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition, escalating care as appropriate. Manage common oncology related complications including pain, nausea/vomiting, dehydration, fever, electrolyte imbalances, anemia, neutropenia, and treatment related side effects. Educate patients and caregivers on symptom management, medications, and discharge instructions. Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, pharmacy, case management, social work, nutrition, and other members of the interdisciplinary team. Maintain accurate documentation while adhering to quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Foster a culture of compassion, teamwork, and excellence while providing high-quality, patient centered care. Credentials and Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Science of Nursing. In lieu of Bachelors, an Associate’s degree in Nursing plus 1 year of relevant experience may be considered. Registered Nurse (RN) RN-CURRENT licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of FL, or a valid Multi-State privilege to practice in FL (must declare FL as primary State of residence within 60 days from date of hire if licensed in another eNLC compact state with multi-state privileges). Basic Life Support (BLS). Clinical Ladder advancement Salary Range $36.63 - $54.93. Salary ranges posted for this position represent the expected base pay range for the role. Actual compensation may vary based on location and a variety of job-related factors, including experience, skills, education, and internal equity among Team Members in similar positions.
