Drafter/Designer

Job Description

• Provide drafting support to the mechanical design engineers as well as BOM generation and other documentation process such as ECO process
• Provide drafting support to mechanical design engineers
• Create detailed drawings in SolidWorks reflecting engineering design intent
• Add dimensions, GD&T, and technical notes
• Generate exploded views at the assembly level
• Create and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Support documentation processes, including ECO (Engineering Change Orders)
• Primarily support new product development, with some updates to existing designs
• ~70% drafting / 30% documentation
• Creating necessary views, dimensions, GDT and notes to reflect the design intent from the design engineers.
• Generating exploded views and BOM from the assemblies and provide documentation help such as ECO process and etc.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Community college / associate-level education
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Associate degree + strong experience is acceptable
• Proficient with SolidWork drafting.
• Minimum 5+ years of drafting experience
• 10+ years of experience is acceptable
• Ability to interpret and translate engineering intent into drawings
• Experience creating assemblies, exploded views, and BOMs
• Familiarity with ECO/documentation processes
• Strong communication skills (frequent interaction with engineers)
• Nice to have skills:
  
  
  • Understand model assembling and help engineers find and clear errors in the model assemblies
  • Experience working with assemblies (ability to review and correct errors)
  • Semiconductor industry experience (cleanliness standards, surface treatments, etc.)
