Licensed Practical Nurse – 20082825 (260004RN)

Compensation: Approximately $60,000 based on shift assignments.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care as directed
• Documents patient-related care timely within the electronic health record
• Maintains patient medical records
• Administers medications (oral, intramuscular, and, if certified, intravenous)
• Performs treatments and assists with doctor’s sick call and chronic care clinics management
• Participates in patient care planning, treatment team activities, and continuous quality improvement
• Responds to emergencies, provides emergency care, and collects patient data and vital signs
• Collects urine and/or other body fluid specimens; may perform venipuncture
• Prepares patients for release or transfer, completing transfer and release summaries
• Ensures discharge medication orders are forwarded to pharmacy
• Assists physicians with medical procedures and assumes duties of other nurses during absences
• Provides nursing support to assistive personnel and patient education on health maintenance
• Investigates and documents problem areas; reviews shift reports
• Participates in work‑related and institutional training, and in meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings
• Performs administrative duties, inventory and ordering of medical supplies, and assists ancillary staff
• Works overtime as required

Qualifications

License to practice nursing as a licensed practical nurse issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing pursuant to Section 4723 of the Ohio Revised Code; MDS certification issued by ANNAC.
