Position Summary The 6th Grade Math & Science Teacher delivers engaging instruction, builds strong rapport with students, and collaborates with a two-teacher grade-level team to support academic growth. The teacher implements CHAMPS expectations, uses district curriculum with fidelity, and maintains consistent communication with families. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education Valid Illinois PEL with Elementary Education (K-9) or appropriate middle-grade endorsement Experience teaching Grades 5-8 or relevant coursework/training Strong instructional, classroom management, and communication skills Key Responsibilities Teach 6th grade math and science using district-aligned curriculum Create a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment Implement CHAMPS for behavior and procedures Assess student learning and communicate progress to families Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to meet student needs Maintain accurate records and follow district policies Participate in professional development, meetings, and committees Why Hazel Crest SD 152.5?
