About the Role:

As a Cook, you will play a vital role in preparing and producing high-quality meals that meet the standards of our establishment. Your work will directly impact customer satisfaction by ensuring that food is prepared safely, efficiently, and with attention to detail. You will collaborate closely with the kitchen team, including the Head Chef, to maintain a smooth workflow and uphold hygiene and safety regulations. This role requires physical stamina and manual dexterity to handle various kitchen tasks, including food preparation and moving kitchen equipment. Ultimately, your contribution will help create an enjoyable dining experience for our guests while supporting the overall success of the culinary operation.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Proven experience in food preparation and cooking in a professional kitchen environment.
• High School Diploma/GED
• ServSafe certification
• Minimum of three years experience
• Demonstrated manual dexterity and physical ability to stand for long periods and move kitchen equipment safely.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Ability to lift 30 lbs.
• Capability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working under or alongside a Head Chef.
• Experience in food production planning and inventory control.
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing kitchen demands.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations beyond basic requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations.
• Assist the Head Chef in food production and inventory management.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
• Stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as climbing stairs and moving objects as required.
• Communicate effectively in English with team members to coordinate kitchen activities.
• Monitor food stock levels and report shortages to the Dietary Manager.

Skills:

The required skills such as food preparation and production are essential for daily meal creation, ensuring dishes meet quality and safety standards. Manual dexterity is critical for handling kitchen tools and ingredients precisely and safely. The ability to stand for extended periods and move objects supports the physical demands of the kitchen environment, including transporting supplies and maintaining workflow.
