Clinical Assistant Professor

Job Summary This faculty position will have clinical, research and administrative responsibilities within the Department of Medicine, Division of Medical Oncology, and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. The individual will serve as an attending physician in the Division of Medical Oncology, focusing on the care and treatment of patients within general oncology. Responsibilities include outpatient care, as well as inpatient attending duties for the division, as needed. The individual should be motivated to participate in the expansion of the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center Clinical Trials portfolio in the study of general oncology. Duties and Responsibilities Hold clinic sessions and provide inpatient attending duties at Sylvester’s main campus or other clinical practice sites. Participate in department academic activities and divisional/departmental meetings; may lecture or conduct demonstrations or teach across UM schools. Explore and develop appropriate research collaborations within and outside the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center or the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine departments and schools. Write and submit scientific papers and abstracts, and submit grant proposals (if applicable). Conduct and develop clinical and translational trials related to the treatment of cancer; assist in the expansion of the clinical trials portfolio as an investigator and principal investigator. Position Requirements Demonstrated track record of excellence in patient care, research, peer-reviewed publications, and potential to serve as principal investigator of cutting-edge clinical trials. National recognition and/or experience in the development of clinical trials, including investigator-initiated trials, and in the emerging area of personalized medicine.
