About the Role The Accounts Payable Manager oversees the entire accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely vendor payments, invoice processing, and expense recording for the POAH Communities portfolio of properties. The role generally includes supervising a team of 3–5 Account Payable Specialists and/or Project Accountants. About Your Impact Oversee invoice processing, check runs, ACH transactions, and wire transfers. Help manage relationships with vendors and resolve payment discrepancies. Ensure adherence to company policies, internal controls, and tax compliance. Implement automation and new procedures to improve efficiency. Alert management of any irregularities or issues. Complete reviews of work papers and reports prepared by other staff, and provide timely and constructive feedback. Work with other Accounting Managers to balance workload of the department. Maintain knowledge of current accounting practices and legal updates. Direct and prioritize the work load of subordinate employees. Manage development and performance of staff. Perform administration, conduct interviews, and make recommendations for new hires and/or replacements. Other related tasks as assigned. About You Minimum five years in Accounts Payable, with at least three years in a supervisory position. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Ability to work with a sense of urgency. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Excellent customer service skills. Strong administrative and data management skills. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook, and Adobe or similar. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting software (Yardi). May require periodic overtime.
