Finishing Line Leader - ChattanoogaShift: 1st or 2nd shiftSummary:The Finishing Line Leader position overseeing a production line, trains and directs the finishing personnel and coordinates the work flow to achieve plant goals in the areas of Safety, Quality, Cost and Productivity.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide new hire training, cross training and follow up training to finishing personnel.Set up line and/or assist with line set up as needed.Responsible for inventory control, tracking and reconciliation of customer product and components, assuring that both are correct and properly placed on the line; kept in good supply as needed for the completion of the shift's production and the start of the next shift, if applicable.Assign full-time/temporary staffing service employees to individual tasks on the line as outlined in the work order and train accordingly.Coordinate and motivate full-time/temporary staffing service employees in order to maintain maximum production line efficiency and meet production goals.Oversee and monitor production flow on the line, troubleshoot problems, make equipment adjustments as needed, recommend and institute line improvements, and direct temporary staff labor issues to Supervisor.Ensure that the completed finished product meets all specifications outlined in the Work Order and complete quality checks to verify at a minimum of 5-7% of kits produced.Ensure adherence to Company policies, SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).Accurately maintain all production paperwork, including recording and reconciling temporary staff labor hours, and enter production data into the computer system.Maintain line cleanliness through good housekeeping practicesCommunicate with other departments, such as warehouse, maintenance, and quality assurance as appropriate and necessary, and keep Supervisor apprised of issues related to the line.Lead and participate in special projects, as needed.Other duties as assigned.Assigned overtime is mandatory.What you need to succeed:High school diploma or GEDAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsAbility to write routine reports and correspondenceAbility to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizationAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructionsAbility to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situationsKnowledge of and basic computer skills, Microsoft Office, and current preventive maintenance softwareStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to apply innovative solutions and to think creatively in a fast paced and deadline driven environmentCandidates are required to undergo a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer, but before starting employment.
