OVERALLJOB PURPOSE

Theprimaryresponsibilityofthispositionisto administermedicationstoresidentsandassistwith other aspects of their daily care and routine. In assisted living and memory care, this role also ensures safety, promotes dignity, and supports engagement for residents with cognitive or physical challenges.

HighSchoolDiplomaorequivalent Sixmonthsofrelatedexperienceand/ortrainingorequivalentcombinationofeducationand experience Appropriatecertification,asrequiredbythe state Previousexperienceinseniorlivingpreferred Attention to detail to administer and accurately record the administration of medications for residentsasprescribedbythephysicianinaccordancewithestablishedpoliciesandprocedures of Sunshine Retirement Living and applicable state/federal regulations Demonstratedabilitytocommunicatepolitelyandeffectively(inEnglish),bothverballyandin writing, with residents and staff Meetstate-relatedrequirements(ifapplicabletoposition) Abilitytoworkinateamsettingandbeapositiveteamplayer Maintainapositive,respectful,andprofessionalapproachwithcoworkersandresidents Possessexcellentcustomerandorganizationalskills Abilitytoworkundertimeconstraintswithlittlesupervisionandmeetdepartmentdeadlines Training or willingness to train in dementia care practices, including redirection, validation, and behavioral support techniques Satisfactorily pass Sunshine’s and state-regulated criminal record clearance, health screening and TB clearance (if applicable)

Provideresidentswithmedicationadministrationandtreatmentassistanceaccordingtohealthcareprovider’s orders Monitorhealth,safety,andwell-beingoftheresidents.Promptlyreportanychangesinresident’sphysicalconditionand/orbehaviortoHealthServices Director or Health Services Coordinator Accuratelymaintainresidentrecordsregardingmedicationdistribution,leisureactivities, incidents, and observations Properlystoremedicationsandequipmentandkeepsthemedicationroomcleanandorderly Ensuresprescriptionlabelandstorageproceduresmeetstatestandard Properlyfollowshift-changeproceduresanddocumentation Assistwithactivitiesofdailylivingsuchasbathing,dressing,andeating Support residents with memory loss by using patience, empathy, and specialized communication techniques Encourageand/orremindresidentstoparticipateinactivities.Promotepurposeful engagement that matches residents’ cognitive abilities and personal preferences Assistinkeepingtheenvironmentsafeandhappyforresidents Implement elopement-prevention and other safety measures specific to memory care residents Immediatelyrespondtoresidentemergencies;providefirstaidassistance;debriefanddocument incident following company procedures Accurately document medication administration, care provided, and observations in electronic health records per company policy PerformsotherdutiesasassignedbySupervisor
