In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:Ensure completion of new patient information packet including consents, insurance forms and other clinical documentsVerify and update computer system with patient demographic and insurance informationSchedule appointments for follow-up visits and procedures in the computer systemDetermine the appropriate provider, length and time of appointmentAccurately post charges in the computer system to the proper patient accountCollect and post payments from patients and prepare patient receiptsMaintain and responsible for cash drawer (batch) and balances and closes cash drawerAnswer basic questions about patients’ bills and insuranceDirect patients to appropriate clinical areaClose and secure office at the end of shiftOther duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsThe following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:Education and Formal Training:High school diploma or equivalent requiredWork Experience:1 year clerical experience required1 year medical business office or significant public contact experience preferredKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the English languageAbility to deal with patients under stressGood planning and organizational abilitiesSpeaking and hearing to converse with the publicOffice equipment skillsPhysical Requirements:Ability to see and read printed data and computer screensManual dexterityVisual and auditory acuity to collect informationVerbal communication skillsAbility to lift, stoop, bend, kneel, reach and sit for extended periods of timeRequired Licenses and CertificationsCape Fear Valley Health System is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/Veteran/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity #J-18808-Ljbffr Cape-Fear-Valley-Medical-Center-
