About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join its dynamic Legal & Compliance team. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of precision medicine, with a focus on developing and implementing legal and compliance policies, practices, and systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for proactively identifying and addressing legal and compliance risks across various functions, including product, marketing, commercial operations, market access, reimbursement, R&D, people ops, and finance. They will also be involved in advising on company contracts, driving the build-out of compliance infrastructure, and ensuring the company's activities align with external requirements. The ideal candidate should have a JD, be licensed to practice law in one or more US jurisdictions, and have at least 5 years of experience, preferably with exposure to life science or healthcare organizations. Applicants for the Associate General Counsel position at the company should possess a genuine interest and ability to learn new areas of law and business, with a proven track record of taking on projects in unfamiliar areas and driving them to completion. The role requires a high level of resourcefulness, adaptability, and the ability to operate with significant autonomy in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. Experience in commercial compliance, securities/corporate governance, contract drafting and negotiation, intellectual property, and labor and employment matters is essential. The candidate should be a strong team player with excellent leadership skills, capable of communicating effective legal solutions that meet business objectives while appropriately mitigating risks. Familiarity with start-up or emerging high-growth company experience, as well as molecular diagnostics or genetic company, is a plus.
