One Love Agency is hiring a full-time Counselor / Therapist (LPC, LCPC, MSW, LMSW, LCSW, LMFT, SUDC) for our Pocatello office, starting immediately.

Most clinical job posts are written for someone who wants a quiet room and a full schedule. This one is written for someone who wants both of those and a hand in what gets built around them.

Who we are

For more than fifteen years we have walked with families through the hardest seasons of their lives. Six offices now, across Idaho and Utah. Adults in crisis. Kids and families who need someone in their corner. People finding their way back from addiction. We serve the folks other systems have the hardest time holding onto.

We run on a Hawaiian word: hānai — to take in, to raise as your own. That is how we treat our clients and it is how we treat each other. When someone joins One Love, they join a family.

We also work like a village. The therapist, the case manager, the CBRS specialist, the peer support specialist, the front desk, the biller — every one of us is standing in a circle around a client. Nobody is the star and nobody is support staff. If the front desk misses a benefit check, your best hour with a family never gets to count. We each carry a piece, and we carry it for each other.

And we hold to three things we call the Big C's :

Clients. They are the reason for every decision we make. Not the schedule, not the paperwork, not convenience. Them.

Compliance. A note written well is proof a person was actually served. It is how we protect a client's access to care, protect the staff who provide it, and protect the agency that employs them. We stay at 100% — not because someone is watching, but because the people we serve cannot afford for us to slip.

Community Partners. Schools, courts, the hospital, Health and Welfare, recovery programs, housing and benefits offices. They send us people they are responsible for, and that trust is on loan.

The work

You will carry a therapy caseload serving adults and youth in the Portneuf Valley — individual, family, and group work, assessment and diagnosis, comprehensive diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, and the clinical direction of the plan once it is written.

You will not carry it alone. Our case managers, CBRS specialists, and peer support staff work the same plan you write — they are in the home, in the school, and in the community reinforcing what happens in your room. Depending on your licensure, you may also sign and oversee the plans they work from, and provide supervision to clinicians coming up behind you.

If substance use is your lane, there is room for that here too. Co-occurring work is a constant in this valley, and a SUDC alongside a clinical license is a real asset.

Two things about this job you should know up front

First: the caseload is already here. Our referral relationships in this valley are built and active. You will not spend your first six months developing a panel and wondering whether this was a mistake. You will spend it meeting people. If you have ever taken a clinical job where the schedule filled slowly and the paycheck reflected it, you know exactly what that sentence is worth.

Second: this office is still taking its shape. We have leadership in place and the team is coming together now, which means how this office runs — the groups we offer, the flow of the day, what we go after next — is not finished being decided. The clinicians who are here while that is happening get a say in it.

So if you have ever sat in a staff meeting thinking if this were mine, I would do it differently — bring that. We would rather hire the person with an opinion and a plan than the person who is waiting to be handed a schedule. It is more work. It is also the difference between a job and something you helped make.

What we are looking for

Honestly? Someone who gets it, wants it, and can carry it.

Required

• Master's degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or a related clinical field
• Active Idaho license — LCPC, LPC, LCSW, LMSW, MSW, LMFT, or equivalent. Working toward independent licensure? Apply — we provide supervision. SUDC / CADC is welcome alongside a clinical license or on its own for the right candidate.
• Ability to pass an Idaho Department of Health and Welfare criminal history background check and be cleared before direct client contact
• Clear of any state or federal exclusion list (OIG LEIE / SAM) — we verify at hire and monitor on an ongoing basis
• Comfort with electronic health records and a real commitment to same-week documentation

What makes you stand out

• You have worked in community behavioral health , not only private practice. You know what a CDA is, you have written plans that other staff carry out, and you understand how authorizations, units, and medical necessity shape what a client can actually receive.
• Your documentation holds up. Your notes are on time, tied to the plan, and clean under review — because you understand that a family's access to care lives or dies on the chart.
• You work well with a team around the client. Case managers, skills staff, and peer support are not below you; they are the reason your plan reaches into the client's week.
• You have built or changed something. A group, a program, a workflow, a referral relationship. You did not wait for permission.
• Experience with youth and families, and with co-occurring substance use
• CANS certification (Idaho YES) for the youth side of the caseload
• Independent licensure with the ability to supervise — especially valuable as this office grows
• Bilingual or multilingual ability — a genuine gift in this role, though not required
• Trauma-informed, culturally humble, and steady when a day goes sideways
