This is a night shift position.

Job Duties :

***EDUCATION PREFERRED - HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED***

SCHEDULE: NIGHT SHIFT - 4:00 PM TO 12:30 AM; OVERTIME MAY EXTEND TO THE END OF THE SHIFT RATHER THAN THE BEGINNING DUE TO EQUIPMENT AVAILABILITY.

TOP SKILLS REQUIRED:
- CAPABLE, WILLING, AND PROVEN TO WORK WITH MINIMAL SUPERVISION
- WILL REQUIRE A HIGHER DEGREE OF PERFORMANCE AND KNOWLEDGE AS THERE WILL BE MINIMAL SUPPORT FUNCTIONS AVAILABLE ON THE NIGHT SHIFT.
- PREVIOUS TIG/GTAW WELDING EXPERIENCE IS A HARD REQUIREMENT (MUST BE SHOWN ON RESUME)
- PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE WITH SHEET METAL WELDING DOWN TO 20 GAUGE/ .036" ALUMINUM AND/OR STAINLESS STEEL (HIGHLY PREFERRED)
- MUST HAVE THE ABILITY TO DO THEIR OWN FINISHING
- STRUCTURAL WELDERS ARE TYPICALLY NOT A GOOD FIT
- MUST HAVE A GOOD RECORD OF COMPLETING QUALITY WELDS THAT LOOK AS SEAMLESS AS POSSIBLE AFTER FINISHING
- MUST HAVE IMMEDIATE AVAILABILITY TO START, IF SELECTED

JOB SUMMARY: The welder will be responsible for fitting, assembling, welding, and finishing precision sheet metal and fabricated components in support of production requirements. This position performs GTAW (TIG) welding as the primary welding process and is expected to produce high-quality work from engineering drawings, work instructions, and established quality standards. Work is performed onsite.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Perform fit-up, tack welding, GTAW (TIG) welding, grinding, and finishing operations.
- Fabricate and assemble carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components.
- Weld thin-gauge sheet metal and fabricated assemblies down to .036" material thickness.
- Perform spot welding, stud welding, and robotic welding operations as required.
- Install PEM hardware, rivet nuts, inserts, studs, and related hardware.
- Perform drilling, tapping, countersinking, and secondary fabrication operations.
- Inspect completed work for dimensional and visual compliance to drawing requirements.
- Accurately complete production documentation and work order transactions.
- Support production schedules and execute work according to established priorities.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with 5S standards.
- Perform routine operator preventive maintenance (PM) activities on assigned equipment.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and promptly report abnormalities, safety concerns, quality concerns, or maintenance issues.
- Maintain tools, fixtures, and equipment in good working condition.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all company policies, including Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of welding and fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated GTAW (TIG) welding experience.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols.
- Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Experience with sheet metal fabrication and assembly.
- Experience welding thin-gauge sheet metal.
- Experience with robotic welding operations.
- Experience with spot welding and stud welding.
- Experience in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
- Overhead crane experience preferred.
- Ability to perform welding, fabrication, grinding, and finishing operations for extended periods of time.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
- Work involves frequent lifting of materials and products up to 40 pounds.
- Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment, including but not limited to: eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, steel-toed work boots, and hard hats.
- Works under immediate supervision.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes, vapors, or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
