Senior Accountant

Tate Computer Systems, Inc. (Itonyx) is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Senior Accountant to lead core accounting operations — general ledger, AP/AR, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close — while also serving as finance owner for government-contract sales activity, including Federal Government Contracts order-to-cash, revenue recognition, and government invoicing. This role blends hands‑on staff accounting with process ownership, procurement support, and audit‑ready documentation aligned to ISO 9001. Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel is essential; a minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience is required. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead month‑end and year‑end close; prepare and analyze financial statements and reports. Own AP/AR, bank and GL reconciliations; maintain clean, accurate financial records. Implement SOPs and support ERP maintenance and continuous improvement. Monitor the accounting inbox and leverage QuickBooks/Excel for efficient workflows. Tax Compliance & Filings Prepare and file sales and use tax filings (local and state). Manage payroll tax reporting and property tax filings. Ensure overall tax compliance; coordinate with external tax accountants/auditors on tax matters. Government Contract & Sales Finance (SEWP VI) Process task orders order‑to‑cash, tied to Federal Government Contracts Control Number (SSCN) and order records; prepare and submit accurate government invoices and track DSO/aging. Prepare quarterly Agency Administrative Handling Fee reports; reconcile collected vs. remitted fees. Support RFQ pricing/quote development with cost build‑ups and gross‑margin analysis; apply correct product‑vs‑services revenue recognition; maintain segregated, audit‑ready Federal Government Contract. Purchasing, Order Processing & Office Support Place and track purchase orders; manage vendor communication and resolve order issues; oversee inventory and re‑orders. Process customer orders and audit PO, SO, and inventory items as needed. Manage shipping/receiving and documentation systems; support C‑Suite and streamline workflow operations. Perform other duties as assigned; this list is not exhaustive. QUALIFICATIONS Required Minimum 5 years progressive experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations (GL, AP/AR, reconciliations, close). Proficient in QuickBooks and Excel; comfortable with ERP and spreadsheet‑based analysis. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred, not required; CPA/CMA not required. Preferred Exposure to government‑contract or sales finance (order‑to‑cash, invoicing, revenue recognition); DCAA‑aware environment familiarity. CPA/CMA or progress toward certification. Skills Strong work ethic, proactive problem‑solving, and a commitment to accuracy and integrity. Excellent communication, organizational, and time‑management skills; detail‑oriented. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and other office management software.
