Job Description

This long-term Maintenance Technician II role focuses on supporting an operations maintenance team by repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems in a fast-paced distribution environment. You will install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment to help ensure safe, efficient, and reliable facility operations.

Job Overview

• Location: Tallahassee, FL
• Shift: MUST BE OPEN TO ALL SHIFTS - shift range from days/nights 10-hour shifts:
  • Front half: Sunday-Wednesday
  • Back half: Wednesday-Saturday
• Pay Rate: $32.50/hr
• Contract to hire opportunity
• Climate controlled environment
• Industrial maintenance within a warehouse/logistics environment

Responsibilities

• Support the operations maintenance team in maintaining reliable performance of material handling and automation systems.
• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on material handling equipment to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation.
• Install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment according to established procedures and safety standards.
• Inspect pneumatic systems, identify issues, and perform repairs or component replacements as needed.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and basic robotics-related issues on equipment and systems to restore functionality quickly.
• Use appropriate tools and maintenance techniques to complete work orders accurately and on time.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used to maintain accurate equipment history.
• Follow all safety guidelines, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies while performing maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with operations and other maintenance team members to prioritize work and support continuous facility uptime.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience performing maintenance on material handling equipment in an industrial or distribution environment.
• Hands-on skills in installing, maintaining, and repairing automated packaging and distribution equipment.
• Ability to maintain and repair pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting air lines, valves, and related components.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and resolve equipment issues safely and efficiently.
• Capability to follow technical procedures, maintenance instructions, and safety protocols.
• Experience working as a maintenance technician or in a similar maintenance-focused role.

Work Environment

The role is based in a large, automated distribution facility that uses material handling equipment, pneumatic systems, and automated packaging and distribution technologies. Work is performed on and around industrial equipment, which may involve standing, walking, climbing, and working at heights or in tight spaces as needed to access machinery. The environment is fast-paced and operations-focused, with a strong emphasis on safety procedures and equipment reliability.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tallahassee, FL.

The pay range for this position is $32.50 - $32.50/hr.
