Expanded Functions Dental Assistant

Position Overview

Mid America Health is seeking an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join our Ohio team. This EFDA position will work part‑time, 32 hours per week (Monday‑Thursday 7:00 am‑3:30 pm), between Ross Correctional Institution and the Chillicothe Correctional Institution in Chillicothe, OH. The role offers competitive compensation of $35 per hour and full benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k), generous paid time off, paid holidays, flex spending, and a health savings account. No late nights or weekends.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine chairside duties including preventive, restorative, extraction, and prosthodontic care.
• Place and finish permanent dental fillings, apply fluoride varnishes and desensitizing agents, and provide oral hygiene instructions.
• Handle limited endodontic work; no orthodontics, crowns, or bridges will be performed.
• Complete certain administrative duties.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience and certificate from an accredited dental assisting program (preferred).
• Current CPR certification for healthcare providers.
• Active Ohio Dental Radiographer License.
• Active Ohio Expanded Functions Dental Auxiliary license.
• Willingness to travel throughout Ohio after the position transitions to that stage.
