What you'll do
You'll take architectural drawings, field measurements, and design intent from our team and turn them into complete shop drawings: plans, elevations, sections, and details of casework, with cut lists and hardware called out, ready for the shop to build. You'll set up jobs in Cabinet Vision, output to our CNC, verify site dimensions by others when needed, revise drawings from shop and field feedback, and keep our drawing library and standards organized. You'll also review project drawings and specifications ahead of bidding, identify anything unclear or missing, and send RFIs to the architect or general contractor so that all questions are resolved before we submit our bid.
Requirements
A minimum of two years of experience producing shop drawings for fabrication and production. We strongly prefer candidates who have worked in Cabinet Vision and/or Microvellum. If your two years are in another shop-drawing application (for example AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor) producing fabrication drawings for a production line, we'll consider you and train you on Cabinet Vision.
You should be comfortable reading architectural drawing sets, know your way around plywood, laminate, veneer, and standard cabinet hardware, and be careful with dimensions. Experience in a cabinet, millwork, or casework shop is the strongest fit. Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Details
Part-time to start, 24 to 32 hours per week, with the opportunity to move to full-time based on performance and workload. On-site in San Leandro, CA. Pay is $35 to $45 per hour, based on experience and knowledge. Schedule is flexible within our shop hours.
