POSITION PURPOSE

The Procurement Specialist executes cost effective strategies for the procurement of product and materials used in the business and are in alignment with the company’s overall strategy. Ensures all Briggs Industrial Solutions standards are adhered to and executed consistent with company direction.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Create and Maintain Purchase Orders as requisitioned Monitor procurement spend and procedural compliance to increase productivity and drive efficiencies Engage with region and local leadership to ensure transfer of slow-moving items Ensure timely receipt of goods after purchase orders are created Partner with corporate and/or branch leadership to ensure Internal Audit financial controls are exceeded and/or met Execute reporting to provide visibility on procurement controls Perform other related duties as assigned Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong customer service and multi-tasking skills Strong financial acumen, decision-making and quantitative analysis Ability to work with multiple users at various levels of the organization Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel Previous Experience/Education Experience in supply chain management, purchasing management or related field required 3+ years’ experience in roles with increasing responsibility preferred 3+ years’ experience in vendor / supplier management, bidding projects and sourcing negotiation preferred Certification in supply chain / purchasing / procurement preferred
