Elementary School Assistant Principal Oakland Elementary School, Fayette County Public Schools, Oakland, TN, USA – Full‑time, 10.5‑month position. Overview This role assists the principal in performing administrative duties, providing support to the instructional process and directing overall site operations, services, staff, and student conduct. The Assistant Principal is a key resource for enforcing policies, coordinating school activities, and addressing issues affecting the campus. Responsibilities Plan, organize, coordinate, and participate in programs and activities related to instruction, student discipline, special education, and school operations. Enforce state and district codes, policies, and laws, and administer discipline and safety programs. Manage school administrative functions including facility maintenance, budget, and staffing to maintain safe and efficient operations. Supervise, evaluate, and provide guidance to certificated and classified personnel; assign duties and oversee recruitment, interviewing, and selection of new faculty and staff. Develop and administer disciplinary procedures, communicate with students, parents, teachers, and community agencies, and resolve complaints. Maintain communication with community and parent groups; develop correspondence to promote school activities. Organize and supervise student, extracurricular, and athletic events. Use social media to support communication and awareness of school activities. Maintain high staff morale and perform other professional and administrative duties as assigned. Qualifications Master’s degree in Education. Valid Tennessee Teacher License. Valid Tennessee Administrator’s License. Minimum 3 years of teaching experience. Minimum 3 years of administrative experience. Demonstrated organizational, decision‑making, verbal and written communication skills. Term & Compensation 10.5‑month term; position administered by the campus. Salary determined by the Fayette County Public Schools salary schedule. Requirements Attendance is a core function; employees must arrive on time and maintain regular attendance. Physical requirements include occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and fine finger dexterity.
