Customer Quality Engineer

About the Team You’ll join a collaborative, customer-focused quality team dedicated to driving product excellence from design through production, working cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers. What you can look forward to as Customer Quality Engineer: Participates in the development of Process and Design FMEA’s. Recommend design and manufacturing method changes to new products. Perform technical support and analyses to resolve product problems as they occur in the manufacturing process Work with customer warranty and quality personnel to analyze, track, and troubleshoot defective returned parts. Improve customer satisfaction by investigating customer complaints, proposing improvements, validating corrective actions Lead the resolution of repetitive or customer claims with root cause analysis and LLC at suppliers; (for warranty and merchandised goods) Ensure conclusion of Quality Assurance Agreements (QAA) for all assigned suppliers in cooperation with Commodity Buyers Lead all necessary tasks of the CQP including Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) Your profile as Customer Quality Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience Minimum of 3 years’ experience in quality within a manufacturing environment Experience with SAP, particularly warehouse or manufacturing modules, preferred Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills Proficiency in core automotive quality standards and tools, including APQP, PPAP (AIAG), PPA (VDA 2), SPC, MSA, FMEA, and root cause analysis methods (8D, Pareto, Fault Tree Analysis) Knowledge of quality management systems and auditing standards, including ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and ISO 19011 Familiarity with manufacturing processes, product lifecycle management (PLM), Product Safety Act requirements, and process documentation (work instructions, control plans) Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and use measurement/control equipment, along with strong MS Office skills ZF does not offer visa sponsorship for this role (e.g., H-1B, TN), and candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship by ZF now or in the future.
