What You'll Do
- Prepare thin tissue slices on slides for microscopic analysis
- Examine, fix, embed, and process tissue samples to ensure proper preservation
- Use microtomes or cryostats to section tissues accurately
- Mount and stain tissue samples to highlight abnormalities
- Recognize factors affecting procedures or quality and take corrective actions
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on laboratory equipment
- Manage supplies and ensure quality-control procedures in the lab
What You Need
Required:
- Relevant histology or laboratory technologist license/certification
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred:
- Previous experience in tissue processing and microscopy techniques
- Familiarity with laboratory maintenance and quality control
