Job Opportunity

This position is a 32-hour night shift role, scheduled from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The role requires working 8-hour shifts, totaling four shifts per week, including every other weekend and holidays.

Job Description

The ideal candidate must possess acute telemetry experience and hold an ACLS certification upon hire. The responsibilities of this position include:

• Providing patient care in accordance with established standards, protocols, and policies.
• Respecting each patient as an individual and fostering their sense of dignity and self-regard.
• Conducting patient and family education tailored to learning needs and readiness.
• Collaboratively planning discharge for patients, incorporating necessary support systems and resources.
• Delegating and supervising nursing interventions effectively.
• Prioritizing patient care, recognizing the need for emergency interventions, and seeking assistance when necessary.
• Documenting all pertinent data, therapeutic interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
• Providing thorough reports on assigned patients to ensure continuity of care.
• Promoting professional learning and development for colleagues and self.
• Proactively identifying risks to patient safety and opportunities to reduce healthcare errors.
• Addressing ethical issues in patient care and developing plans to resolve them.
• Safely administering medications and intravenous therapy according to physician's orders and established protocols.
• Assessing and managing patient pain levels effectively and documenting responses to treatment.
• Completing necessary documentation for medication reconciliation.
• Interpreting patient cardiac rhythms and implementing appropriate treatment based on physician orders.
• Taking appropriate actions in life-threatening situations.
• Monitoring and acting on symptoms related to cardiac issues such as chest pain.
• Participating in daily multi-disciplinary rounds to coordinate and evaluate patient care.
• Recognizing abnormal laboratory and diagnostic results and notifying physicians in a timely manner.
• Providing ongoing assessment and education to surgical patients and their families.
• Utilizing pain management techniques and devices to ensure proper pain relief.
• Setting up and troubleshooting surgical patient-related equipment as needed.

Job Requirements

• Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; MOAB class required within 60 days of hire.
• Minimum Work Experience: 1 year of med-surge experience preferred; acute telemetry experience required.
• Licenses and Certifications: Current RN License in Massachusetts; ACLS required upon hire.
