Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Senior Manager, Applications to lead a team of application scientists in developing and validating workflows across product portfolios. The role bridges customer needs with scientific innovation through cross-functional collaboration and technical expertise in life sciences applications.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing team of application scientists
- Set application development and validation priorities aligned with customer and business needs
- Provide senior scientific leadership for complex customer applications and technical escalations
- Develop and validate new applications across sample types and customer workflows
- Identify emerging customer applications and translate insights into product improvements with R&D and Product Management
Requirements
- PhD or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Proteomics, Genomics, Biotechnology, or related Life Sciences discipline
- 8+ years relevant life sciences experience including laboratory and customer-facing work
- 2+ years leading and developing scientific or technical teams
- Strong proteomics technology expertise with automation and/or sequencing workflow experience
- Experience with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, academic, or life sciences customers
- Scientific problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities with customer focus
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management in global matrixed environments
Compensation: $143,000-$200,000 base
