Senior Program/Project Support Coordinator MU TITLE: Senior Program/Project Support Coordinator LOCATION: Coverage of Washington and Crawford Counties – Potosi, MO Position Overview MU Extension’s Health & Human Sciences program delivers research‑based educational programs on nutrition, food safety, exercise, and related health topics. The Office of Extension and Engagement’s mission is to improve lives, communities, and economies throughout Missouri. This full‑time, grant‑funded position coordinates the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention High Obesity Program (HOP) with the University of Missouri Extension. The coordinator works with local coalitions, community leaders, technical assistance providers, faculty, and other partners to implement policy, system, and environmental changes that improve healthy food access, increase active transportation, and promote farm‑to‑early‑care and education activities in line with HOP guidelines. The role also involves collecting impact data, preparing reports and press releases, and supporting conference presentations. The coordinator must work independently or as part of a team, operate with minimal guidance, and adapt to changing environments. This position is 100% grant‑funded and contingent on continued availability of grant funds. Essential Duties Serve as local project coordinator for the CDC HOP program, including coordinating logistics for community trainings and meetings, partner communication, and outreach. (30%) Develop, advise, and lead local project implementation in collaboration with Extension Specialists, campus faculty, technical assistance providers, and community members, ensuring HOP work aligns with other MU Extension programs. Conduct community needs assessments and report findings to relevant organizations, coalitions, and community members. (30%) Gather impact data, analyze program outcomes, and assemble reports, including press releases, peer‑reviewed journal articles, and conference presentations. (10%) Serve as a program representative at internal and external meetings, as needed. (5%) Engage in professional development to stay current on the latest developments related to HOP‑appropriate PSE initiatives. (5%) Maintain and extend partnerships with program collaborators and potential collaborators. (10%) Assist in managing annual program county budgets, ensuring funds are spent appropriately and invoices submitted on time. (5%) Perform other duties as assigned. (5%) Travel to locations and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, is required. Travel is required using a personal vehicle. Commuting miles are not reimbursable. Other duties may be expected to support MU Extension’s mission. Leadership Received and Exercised Administrative supervision is received from the Assistant Extension Professor for Policy Systems and Environmental Change. The coordinator may mentor or supervise others in completing program/project duties as needed. Shift Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, is required. Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and three years of related experience are required. Preferred Qualifications Content‑area expertise in policy, systems, and environmental change, nutrition, physical activity, or health is preferred. A master’s degree is preferred.
