Travel Nurse RN - Med Surg - $2,237 per week

Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Med Surg Discipline: RN Start Date: ASAP Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Estimated Gross Weekly Pay: $ 2236.72 Opportunity: RN - Med/Surg (Acute Care) Job Details: • 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM • Every other weekend required • May be asked to participate in holiday rotation • No on-call or standby requirement • Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:5-7 on days, 1:6-8 on nights • Must have a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; first-time travelers will be accepted • Common diagnoses include pneumonia, UTI, altered mental status, GI bleed, alcohol withdrawal, and falls/weakness • RNs required to titrate drips including heparin, bumex, and lasix; no cardiac drip titration required • Respiratory therapy team manages breathing treatments, inhalers, ABGs, BiPap, CPAP, and high-flow O2; RNs responsible for monitoring only • Monitor technicians located on-site to read and monitor telemetry; nurses not expected to read and interpret tele strips independently • May be floated to other Med/Surg, Med/Surg Tele, or IMC units for lower acuity patients • Rotating shifts scheduled so days and nights are not worked in the same week; typically 2 weeks of days followed by 2 weeks of nights • No self-scheduling or block scheduling; schedule managed by unit manager with consideration for requested time off; travelers expected to be flexible • Charting system: EPIC • Scrub color: Navy blue for RNs • Required certifications: BLS Certification • Orientation: 1 day with educator/computer systems training and 1 day with a preceptor • Must provide a copy of unexpired driver's license at time of submission; 50-mile radius rule applies • Any licensing hits must be disclosed at time of submission Facility: This acute care facility operates a 48-bed unit providing comprehensive medical and surgical services to its patient population.
