We are seeking a Cashier/Customer Service/Food Prep Crew Member to join our dedicated Bravo Bagel team! We cross-train all team members, so you will assist in all quick-service restaurant functions - fulfilling orders, light cooking (using the griddle), and light cleaning. Specifically, this includes prepping, light cooking and assembly of bagels, sandwiches, baked goods, and coffee as well as fulfilling customer orders in-person and over the phone.

Whether you're cracking jokes with a customer or cracking eggs on the griddle, you'll be the foundation of the Bravo Bagel experience for our customers!

Duties & Responsibilities:

• We currently need someone with availability on Wednesdays-Fridays, but may increase to all weekdays for the right candidate. Hours generally range from 6am-1:30pm (in early, out early so you have the rest of the day to do what you want!), ranging from 15-30 hours/week.
• Complete opening and/or closing checklists
• You are the backbone of the customer service experience: welcome and greet customers, making them feel comfortable and let them know you're here to take care of them. Turn one-time customers into Raving Fans through your smile, efficient and accurate service, and personal attention.
• Take and fulfill customer orders over the phone and in person
• Answer questions about our food, beverages and other bagel shop services
• Memorize and comprehend menu items, modifiers, combinations, add-ons, and ordering options
• When prepping food, follow standard recipes and special diet orders
• Operate standard kitchen equipment, POS system, cleaning supplies and any other equipment safely and efficiently
• Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, appliances, and facilities
• Complete any other tasks issued by the manager in a polite, timely, and accurate manner
• Compensation includes hourly rate ($13-15/hour) + tips

Qualifications, Skills, & Requirements:

• Sense of humor, enjoys working with people
• Previous experience in a bagel shop, café, bakery, coffee shop or other food services not required, but a plus. Training will be provided for all aspects of the position.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment, cooking techniques, and/or customer service in general is a plus
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and make good decisions in the best interest of the customer and the bagel shop
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, other team members, and vendors
• Be able to lift, reach, bend, stoop, and occasionally lift objects up to 25lbs
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 7 hours)
• Be willing to sign NDA (non-disclosure agreement) once you learn our proprietary bagel-making process
• Experience with smiling preferred
