Diet Technician Opportunity
This opportunity is a per diem position at Wellington Regional Medical Center, located in Wellington, Florida. As a Diet Technician, you will work various trayline positions under the supervisor of the Food and Nutrition Management team. Your responsibilities will include tray accuracy, diet accuracy, and timeliness of service. You will clean all assigned work areas, including sweeping and mopping of floors and refrigerators. You will re-stock food and non-food supplies in work areas. You may make patient snacks and/or deliver snacks/supplies to the patient care units. You will remove garbage and boxes from the department per policy and procedure. You will record temperatures of the food, freezers, and refrigerators daily. You may deliver trays to patients as needed, sweep, and mop floors in the serving and dining areas. You may be cross-trained for other positions within the department. You will exhibit excellent customer service skills in all interactions with patients, visitors, physicians, co-workers, hospital, and supervisory staff. You will recognize the signs and symptoms of stroke and calling a stroke alert overhead. You will verbalize stroke alert process and maintain currency in stroke knowledge by completing the annual 1 hour online training.
Qualifications:
- 1 year hospital food service experience preferred
- Knowledge of HealthCare standard diets
- Servsafe certified a plus
