Location: Rochester, NY Salary: $75,576 - $104,615 annually Agency/Dept.: Public Defender's Office Position Overview This position, located at the Monroe County Public Defender's Office, provides high quality legal representation for indigent defendants entitled to public defense. Employees are assigned to criminal court and are responsible for investigating and preparing cases, interviewing clients and related persons, and representing clients in hearings, trials, negotiations, pleas, and sentencing. The employee reports directly to and works under the general supervision of a Special Assistant Public Defender or other higher-level staff member. Supervision of others is not a responsibility of this class. Minimum Qualifications Attorney licensed to practice law in the State of New York and admitted to practice in all courts within the scope of the plan.
