Director of Quality Assurance

KRUSH Tech is an international technology company developing advanced hardware solutions for defense, aerospace, communications, and autonomous systems. We're launching our U.S. operations from the ground up, building a next-generation, vertically integrated aerospace organization focused on advanced uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS), autonomy, and sensing technologies for the U.S. market and strategic partners. ABOUT THE JOB 

We are seeking a Director of Quality to develop and lead the quality strategy for our manufacturing operations, ensuring that our products, processes, and services consistently meet customer, regulatory, and business requirements. This executive leadership role oversees Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Supplier Quality, and Continuous Improvement, driving a culture of quality excellence, compliance, risk management, and operational performance. 

Reporting to the Vice President of the site, you will build the quality organization and management system as KRUSH launches U.S. manufacturing. This is a rare opportunity to define how quality is run in a new U.S. aerospace and defense manufacturing operation from day one. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO 

• Develop and execute the quality vision, strategy, and objectives, aligned with business goals and customer expectations 

• Provide leadership and direction to quality teams at our Austin site and, as KRUSH grows, across additional sites 

• Build and maintain a culture focused on quality, compliance, and continuous improvement, and serve as executive sponsor for quality programs across the organization 

• Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and other applicable industry-specific requirements 

• Establish quality policies, procedures, and governance frameworks, and monitor QMS effectiveness through audits, performance metrics, and management reviews 

• Lead customer quality initiatives, including rapid resolution of quality issues, customer complaint processes, and corrective action programs, to improve customer satisfaction and product reliability, in partnership with Operations, Engineering, and Commercial teams 

• Establish supplier quality standards and performance requirements, and lead supplier qualification, development, and audit programs 
• Drive supplier performance improvements and risk mitigation, partnering with Procurement and Supply Chain to ensure quality throughout the supply network 
• Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies, and lead root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives 
• Drive reductions in defects, waste, scrap, rework, and Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ), and establish quality improvement roadmaps with measurable performance goals 
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and industry requirements, oversee internal, customer, regulatory, and certification audits, and lead risk management for product quality and compliance, including product safety and reliability programs 
• Build, lead, mentor, and develop the quality team as the organization grows, including succession planning and talent development programs 
• Build organizational capability in quality methodologies and best practices, and promote teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning 
• Develop and manage quality department budgets, and monitor and improve Cost of Quality (COQ) and COPQ 
• Support strategic business planning and growth initiatives, and provide executive-level reporting on quality performance, risks, and improvement opportunities 
• Establish and track quality KPIs, including customer complaint rate, customer satisfaction, COPQ, First Pass Yield, defect and non-conformance rates, supplier quality performance, audit finding closure, scrap and rework reduction, CAPA effectiveness, and quality system compliance 

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, Science, or a related field 

• 10+ years of progressive quality leadership experience 

• 5+ years of senior management or director-level experience 

• Extensive experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, or equivalent) and regulatory compliance 

• Experience leading Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Supplier Quality, and continuous improvement functions 

• Strong skills in audit management, supplier and customer quality management, risk management, root cause analysis and problem solving, data analytics and KPI management, and financial and budget management 

• Experience with Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma 

• Strong strategic thinking, executive leadership, change management, and stakeholder management skills 

• Must qualify as a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities (ITAR)

KRUSH Tech offers a competitive compensation package. Compensation is determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual offers are determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on interview performance, job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, and internal equity.

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate of the applicable range as of the date of posting. The final offer will be determined after considering all relevant factors, including a candidate's qualifications and experience.

In addition to base pay, KRUSH Tech offers a monthly benefits stipend that employees can apply toward the health, dental, vision, or other coverage that best fits their needs, along with 9 paid federal holidays per year.
