Whether you're turning a wrench, managing operations, or supporting customers, you play a vital role in powering industries that move the world forward.Location: Richmond, VirginiaShift: 2ndStarting Compensation Range: $26.46 - $37.84 per hourWhat you will do:Analyze the highest level of problems/issues quickly; logically and critically apply troubleshooting expert level techniques to determine proper repair procedures on all assigned work ordersService, diagnose and repair both Caterpillar and allied equipmentDisassemble, inspect and determine parts needed and reassemble to factory specificationsRebuild any engine and all components (transmissions, differentials, electrical, computers, etc.)Perform electrical and computer repairsInterpret and utilize information from operating, maintenance, and service manuals/bulletinsPrepare parts requisitions, parts returns, service reports, and required documentation, including work orders, parts lists, and timecards in an accurate and timely mannerOccasionally operate heavy equipmentInspect components removed from machines to determine their reusabilityClearly and concisely document all work and repairs completed in a timely mannerMaintain work area, tools and equipment to promote a clean and safe environmentPerform various other duties, as assignedWhat we're looking for:Previous experience with heavy construction equipment and work tool repairExperience performing complex mechanical, electrical, and computer repairsHigh school diploma or GED, requiredStrong mechanical aptitude and expert level troubleshooting skills; able to accurately diagnose and repair equipmentWillingness to work shifts as needed, including days, nights, and/or weekends to meet customer needsSelf-directed, organized, and ability to lead and mentor other techniciansAble to work with limited supervisionProficiency in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office products, and service softwareWhat success looks like in this role:Positive interactions with supervisors and understanding problems and concerns relating to repairsPerforming good work in a fast-paced environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsWorking in coordination with a team to achieve Continuous Improvement goals and objectivesPromoting a positive customer experienceUpholding the Core Values of Integrity, Commitment, Excellence and Teamwork by embracing The Carter WayPhysical requirements:Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hearFrequently required to sitRegularly lift and/or move up to 70 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust focusCompetitive compensation and benefits:Health, dental and vision insurancePaid time off401(k), $0.75 to $1.25 match up to 6%Life and disability insuranceIn-house training instructors/programsTuition reimbursementEmployee referral bonus programTool allowances and tool loansDiscounts on cellular phone service, computers, and vehiclesOpportunities for overtimeShift differential (if applicable)You'll gain access to real learning, real advancement, and a real future in a company that's reshaping what it means to lead in our industry.
