Job Summary Urban Wellness is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Store Manager for dispensary operations in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The AM will be responsible for coordinating and collaborating with Store Management to oversee all aspects of store performance, including staff training and management, inventory control, customer service, and compliance with state regulations. This role requires strong leadership abilities, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of the cannabis industry. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management: Onboard, train, and manage Budtenders, contributing to a positive and productive work environment. Customer Service: Ensure exceptional customer service by training staff, resolving customer complaints, and maintaining a welcoming store atmosphere. Operational Oversight: Oversee daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and transaction processing. Compliance: Ensure full compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations, including proper verification of customer identification and age, and adherence to product handling guidelines. Inventory Management: Collaborate and lead on inventory levels, perform regular audits, and coordinate with suppliers to ensure product availability and accuracy. Sales & Reporting: Collaborate with store management to monitor sales performance, prepare detailed sales reports, and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Marketing & Merchandising: Collaborate with store management to develop and implement store promotions and marketing strategies to drive sales and enhance customer experience. Budget Management: Manage store budget, control expenses, and optimize resource allocation to achieve financial targets. Safety & Security: Ensure the safety and security of the store, staff, and customers by implementing and maintaining security protocols. Administrative: Keep ongoing reports on staff and customers regarding incidents, coaching opportunities and policy violations in collaboration with store management. Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of retail management experience, with at least 2 years in the cannabis industry preferred. Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of cannabis products, strains, and consumption methods. Leadership: Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively. Compliance: Strong understanding of state and local cannabis regulations and compliance requirements. Customer Focus: Commitment to providing excellent customer service and creating a positive shopping experience. Skills: Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business management, cannabis studies, or related fields is a plus. Requirements Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Must complete all onboarding tasks, including national backgrounds, and hold current (non‑expired) training certificates in HIPAA and Food Handling, before onboarding. Must be able to pick up shifts and come in when Budtenders call out. Must be able to use a computer and have knowledge of Google Docs, Word, Excel, and other programs.
