Lead Project Manager

Lead Project ManagerPlans, organizes, directs, and controls project activities required for effective management of electronic security installation projects. Coordinates with installation labor and sub-contractors. Estimates and prices job charges. Works with financial, contract management and other management reports and tools to define project problems to assure project profitability. Is responsible for training and developing employees. Is responsible for supervising local project management team and working with National PMO Manager to define and maintain standard practices. Is responsible for the quality of installationResponsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:Plans and schedules engineering, installation, and subcontracting activities on large and/or complex systems, or service installed jobs Maintains current job plans and specificationsWorks with engineering department on design and drafting phases of jobsCoordinates the procurement of materials, supplies and services and controls timely delivery to job sitePrepares the project installation plan, manages the plan, and prepares and implements job proceduresDetermines, from review of various information, necessary changes in design, contract price, installation plan or other activity and implements sameMaintains construction schedule and coordinates task scheduling with other trades.Selects and monitors the performance of subcontractorsKeeps self, superiors, and subordinates informed of progressMaintains all records of job status, job changes, material flow and other control records and supervises the preparation and processing of reports for internal and external useMay estimate or assist in estimating projects which the company is biddingImplements quality assurance program to continuously improve customer satisfaction Present a professional image of Company when speaking to customers (all levels)Develops a relationship with the decision maker of our customerRoutinely walks job site to ensure quality installation of Company productsResponsible for customer satisfaction on projectsMonitors job status and controls job costs Provides information to determine labor and material requirements on a monthly basisAssists management in monthly forecastingEnsures proper job management and cost control by reviewing financial statementsSupervises the preparation of base data required for monthly job billingMonitors financial and other reports and works with other management tools to define project problemsEnsures time bills are accurately filled out, complete with job numbers, phase codes, times add up, hours are correct, time bills are due at the end of each work day.Must approve time bills for jobs all of their jobs on a weekly basis by EOD of the week. Also responsible for apprentice's and installers timecard accuracy.Devises a plan of action to remedy the problem and implements plan; all to assure project profitabilityTraining and development: Studies literature and attends seminars to stay current with regards to products, processes and materialsWorks with installers on security concepts, ISN and installation procedures and product training for their advancementJob Closure Responsible for ensuring that As-Builds get doneResponsible for completing all paperwork, POs are all completed, Notice of Completions (NOC) is sent, and jobs are turned over to ServiceJob is 100% billed and revenue is takenJob close out report is completedSupervises local project management team: Responsible for conducting regular 1:1 meetings with individual project managersResponsible for conducting weekly 1:1 meeting with National PMO manager to discuss job status, team performance, and highlight any areas of opportunityEnsures local project management team is current on all trainingsResponsible for gathering monthly financial reporting from local project management team and providing to National PMO ManagersReinforces best practices and standards, ensures local project management team is adhering to defined processesLeads bi-weekly local project management team meetingAdditional duties as assigned.About the Guitar Center CompanyThe Guitar Center Company embodies the world of creativity and music by encouraging our teammates to find their own individual sound. Has a strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals, relay logic, PLC's and operations. Good subcontracting skills required. An understanding of job financial reports, and the ability control costs in the handling of large projects.5+ years of project management requiredAVIXA CTS certification strongly preferredPMI PMP certification strongly preferredTravel Requirements:Occasional travel may be required dependent on business needsWhy Guitar Center Company?
