Sr. Water/Wastewater Utility Engineer #2037 Finding the right fit: Our Southeast division is seeking a senior utility engineer with a proven track record of managing and successfully executing water/wastewater utility projects for city, county, and local governments. The position requires an entrepreneurial mindset to grow our municipal engineering practice in Florida and contribute to our national practice in the area. On any given day, you’ll: Take the lead in identifying marketing opportunities and collaborate to win projects from city, county, and municipal governments. Manage projects, oversee design and production of plans and specifications, and ensure work is produced on schedule, profitably, and in conformance with the quality standards of Ayres. Build and maintain respectful working relationships with PMs and other leaders within the company. Support staff development and mentorship. Actively engage in professional organizations. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited university. Registered professional engineer (PE) in Florida. Minimum of 10 years of experience in water/wastewater utility design and construction. Ability to independently manage small to medium‑size projects. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D; MicroStation experience is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). Proven business development expertise focused on identifying, pursuing, and winning projects. Valid driver’s license and good driving record. Desired Skills and Experiences: Familiarity with clients in the Tampa Bay Area. Comfort with utility relocation projects related to roadway construction. Familiarity with FDOT standards.
