Outside Sales Representative (OSR)

As our Outside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth by developing strong customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and delivering equipment solutions that support our customers' operational success. This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers within an assigned territory and works closely with sales coordinators and branch management to provide exceptional service and contribute to the continued growth of National Tank & Equipment.

Compensation: $24,000 annual base salary plus a guaranteed monthly commission for the first 12 months. Total first year guaranteed earnings are expected to range from $85,000-$110,000, depending on experience.

Your MissionBusiness Development & Sales

• Develop new business opportunities while growing and maintaining relationships with existing customers.
• Execute territory sales plans to achieve revenue, profitability, and market share objectives.
• Conduct regular customer visits, jobsite visits, prospecting activities, and networking events.
• Identify customer challenges and recommend rental solutions that improve operational efficiency and project performance.
• Prepare and present quotes, proposals, contracts, and rental agreements.
• Maintain a healthy sales pipeline and actively pursue opportunities from initial contact through close.
• Promote National Tank & Equipment products and services to maximize customer value and account growth.

Customer Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers within the assigned territory.
• Build long-term relationships through consistent communication, responsiveness, and follow-up.
• Understand customer operations, upcoming projects, and equipment needs to proactively identify opportunities.
• Work with customers to resolve service concerns and ensure a positive rental experience.
• Maintain accurate customer information, sales activities, forecasts, and opportunities within company systems.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve customer satisfaction and retention.

Product & Industry Expertise

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of National Tank & Equipment rental fleet and service offerings, including tanks, filtration systems, pumps, piping systems, containment solutions, and fluid management equipment.
• Communicate the value of NTE products, services, and capabilities to prospective and existing customers.
• Represent National Tank & Equipment professionally while promoting our commitment to safety, service, and operational excellence.

Collaboration & Operational Support

• Partner closely with Operations, Sales Coordinators, and Branch Leadership to meet customer requirements.
• Coordinate equipment availability, deliveries, pickups, and service needs.
• Facilitate communication between customers and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Support branch initiatives and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
• Share customer feedback and market intelligence to support continuous improvement and business growth.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of outside sales experience, preferably within equipment rental, industrial services, construction, manufacturing, oil & gas, or related industries.
• Demonstrated success in business development, account management, and achieving sales goals.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Excellent relationship-building and customer service abilities.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Self-motivated and results-driven with the ability to work independently.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
• Experience with Wynne (RentalMan) preferred.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.

Job Location

As the Outside Sales Representative, you will be based within your assigned territory and report directly to the region Sales Manager. This position requires regular local travel, customer site visits, and participation in industry and networking events.
