Senior Planner/Scheduler

divh2Planner/Scheduler/h2pZachry Engineering Corporation (ZEC) is looking for a detail-oriented Planner/Scheduler who is highly qualified in scheduling to work in our Omaha, NE Design Center. This is a great opportunity to work on a challenging projects for a well-known clients in the industry. This role, in our engineering group, will produce and maintain all cost and schedule functions, both internal and external, on assigned projects while maintaining company standards./ph2Responsibilities/h2ulliAssist the project manager in developing project scope of work for required Project Controls tasks/liliStudy and understand all relevant project documents pertaining to the preparation of schedules/liliWork with all relevant project and discipline personnel to prepare schedules/liliConvert the scope of work document into a logically linked, resourced project schedule/liliPrepare realistic, achievable schedules using logical networks and where necessary integrate engineering, procurement, and construction schedules with an emphasis on the engineering and procurement pieces/liliDevelop progress curves and manpower histograms/liliMonitor progress against project schedule and prepare progress reports/liliCollect expended man-hours and prepare Earned Value reports and analysis/liliPrepare, review, and ensure the timely issue of all relevant reports to stakeholders/liliVerbally and in writing advise project management and discipline personnel on impacts, and contingencies and generally guide the scopes towards the earliest possible finish/liliProvide realistic resource forecast data at a project and corporate level/liliProvide input into the budget forecasting process/liliManage cost discipline to ensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of man-hour budgets and ensure that the impact of all change requests is properly assessed and included in the schedules/liliParticipate in schedule and project risk analysis as required/liliAnalyze progress and effects on schedule and advise necessary corrective actions/li/ulh2Qualifications/h2ulliHigh school diploma with previous experience in other functional areas/liliMinimum of 5+ years of experience in engineering project controls within the Refining, Chemicals, Power, Food Beverage or Renewables industries Experience developing and maintaining engineering schedules/liliExperience in cost and schedule analysis/liliLeads project meetings and makes presentations/liliProblem-solving skills, work to resolve complex situations with appropriate management/liliRequires a working knowledge of project management software, specifically Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and Excel/liliMust have a proven record and experience leading the project controls effort on assigned projects/liliMust have an understanding of the basic principles of project management/liliRequires a general understanding of Cost Management, Estimating, and Change Control/liliMust have a high degree of computer literacy/liliStrong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with staff at all levels/liliDependable by meeting deadlines, working independently, being accountable for work, maintaining focus, being punctual, and having a good attendance record/liliMaintain a professional attitude and be able to work independently or work as a team member when needed/li/ulpPreferred Qualifications:/pulliBachelors Degree/li/ulpPhysical Demands:/ppEmployee will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat, and software systems. Position may include visits to construction sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on the ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to hardhat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves, and work boots./ppWork Environment:/ppEmployee will work primarily in an office environment but may require occasional travel to off-site work locations. On construction sites, noise levels will be moderate to high. Job sites may contain the following: light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking.
