Elementary School Teacher

Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment organization, is currently seeking an Elementary School Teacher for the 2027-2028 school year at an independent school in Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of and experience in hands-on and integrated learning, as well as early childhood development.
• Be highly motivated, hard-working, collaborative, enthusiastic about working with young children, energetic and flexible; demonstrate a desire to learn; and show initiative.
• Have a strong pedagogical background and be invested in collaborating with colleagues and working closely with early elementary-aged students.
• Build a joyful and nurturing classroom community that sparks intellectual curiosity and growth for all students, and demonstrates clear and affirming classroom management.
• Collaborate with one’s grade level team to plan and teach an integrated, mission-aligned, early elementary program, including literacy, writing, math, science, social studies, and social emotional learning.
• Supervise children in the classroom, during recesses and dismissal, and on field trips.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's in Elementary Education or related degree
• Experience working with students K-5.
