Let’s explore them together.Job DescriptionEAG Laboratories is seeking a skilled Scientist to support our Atom Probe Tomography(APT) services. We work with leading-edge technology companies across a wide range of industries, helping to design and manufacture the electronics of tomorrow. The ideal candidate will thrive in a collaborative, research-driven environment focused on precision and innovation.This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Scientist to join our APT team and contribute to high-impact analytical services. You’ll play a key role in specimen preparation, data collection, and analysis to support the APT service at EAG. The job also requires the ability to work with high demanding semiconductor clients, meeting tight deadlines, and addressing challenging technical questions.A typical day will consist of various activities, including:Collaborate with team members to deliver high-quality APT analysis to clientsPrepare APT specimens using Focused Ion Beam (FIB)Operate the CAMECA LEAP instrument for data acquisitionPerform routine maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performanceCoordinate with equipment vendors to minimize downtimeConduct data processing and reportingDocument and report analytical findings clearly and accuratelyWork cross-functionally with internal teams on integrated microscopy projectsThisposition works with companies that deal with defense-related activities and is subject toITAR(International Traffic in Arms Regulations). All considered applicants must be U.S. Persons as defined by ITAR:U.S. CitizenU.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. “Green Card Holder”)Political Asylee or RefugeeWork Schedule:Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pmQualificationsMS or PhD degreein Materials Science and Engineering or a related fieldMinimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Atom Probe TomographyExperience preparing samples using FIB for APT or TEMSkilled in handling delicate, chip-sized samples with precision toolsStrong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a teamComfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentExcellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications:Experience with transmission electron microscopy (TEM)Familiarity with automated specimen fabrication using FIB/SEM systemsExperience and knowledge with semiconductor technologies and processesExperience with APT data analysis using customized coding programsPhysical Requirements:Ability to continuously operate a personal computer or lab equipment for extended periods of time (4 or more hours).The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office or laboratory to access file cabinets, machinery, equipment etc.Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate a keyboard and other lab equipment, use a telephone, access file cabinets and other items stored at various levels, including overhead.Must be able to remain in a stationary position 90% of the time.Ability to speak and hear well enough to communicate clearly and understandably with sufficient volume to ensure an accurate exchange of information in normal conversational distance, over the telephone, and in a group setting.Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota.The essential physical and mental requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
