Charge Nurse, RN - Nights

Charge Nurse (RN) – Full‑time, 36 hours per week – Night Shift, 7:00 pm‑7:30 am – Adult Unit – Every other weekend rotation Havenwyck Hospital is a Joint Commission‑accredited psychiatric hospital located in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The Charge Nurse oversees quality nursing care and supervises nursing staff during a shift on the adult unit. Responsibilities Adjust staffing as needed to ensure proper coverage according to designated staff/patient ratios in collaboration with the Nurse Manager. Personal cover a shift if adequate staffing cannot be found. Monitor and evaluate nursing care given. Participate with the Nurse Manager and other nursing managers in developing therapeutic programs for the unit. Participate in orientation and in‑service education for shift employees. Serve as a preceptor for new employees or coordinate orientation with the preceptor designated by the Nurse Manager. Receive intake information, verify admissions with the physician and Intake Department. Current and valid license as a registered nurse in Michigan (required). Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred. 3–5 years of psychiatric experience, with 1–2 years of management experience preferred. Current certification in non‑violent crisis intervention preferred. Current certification in BLS/CPR required. Employees must be in good standing to be considered for internal transfers.
