Radiation Therapist

Primary Department, Division, or Unit UHS Radiation Oncology Work Shift And Schedule This is a per diem position, which means you will work on an as needed, agreed upon basis. Working hours will be assigned by your manager. Compensation Range $40.70 - $61.05 per hour, depending on experience Job Responsibilities This position is not eligible for benefits. Administer radiation treatment of prescribed dose to the designated area to include reproducing patient position and plan parameters for each day of treatment. Perform patient simulations in collaboration with the radiation oncologist. Fabricate immobilization devices. Capture XVI and/or portal images as outlined in the treatment plan. Measure diode readings as requested by the physician to verify treatment accuracy. Accurately document treatment details and patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR). Schedule patients for treatment and simulation sessions. Ensure accurate charge capture and billing for all procedures performed. Fabricate blocks and cutouts for electron treatments as needed. Perform daily morning warm‑up and quality assurance checks on treatment equipment. Alert the physician and nurse to any complications or patient concerns observed during treatment. Operate the CT Big Bore for simulation and radiation planning purposes. Participate in weekly chart rounds, monthly staff meetings, and other assigned departmental meetings. Adhere to department scheduling requirements and demonstrate flexibility to meet patient care needs. Position Qualifications Minimum Required Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Radiation Therapy. NYS licensure registration in Radiologic Technology Radiation Therapy, and ARRT Radiation Therapy certification taken within 4 months, and passed within 6 months of employment. CPR certification within the first three months of hire. Preferred Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Radiation.
