Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift- Frank Pack

POSITION SUMMARY

Supervise and provide direction and guidance to production employees. Monitor performance of production equipment and perform maintenance at the assigned plant.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Supervise production activities including coordinating activities of workers engaged in processing and/or the development of a product or service; provide production reports to assist process improvement. Coordinate work schedules, staffing requirements, and production sequences to maximize productivity; may recruit, hire, train staff, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and disciplinary action. Maintain inventory records and requisition ingredients/supplies as necessary to meet delivery schedules; evaluate materials and products to maintain organization standards. Troubleshoot and resolve process, equipment and material issues in conjunction with machine operators and support personnel. Double-checks, ensures accuracy, and finalizes production paperwork including production reports, work order documentation, safety and sanitation documents, and quality records. Coaches and counsels associates while coordinating and enforcing process controls, policies and procedures; trains new workers in operation of equipment. Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

HS Diploma, GED or equivalent. One (1) year production experience or a combination of leadership and production experience. One (1) year leadership experience, or relevant Sigma experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Two (2) years production experience. Two (2) years leadership experience. Knowledge of Food Safety practices (HACCP, GMPs, SOPs, SSOPs, and SQF).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Ability to become forklift/pallet jack certified. Ability to understand Quality Standards, SSOPs, applicable Pre-requisite programs, and HACCP. Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure, meet deadlines, present a professional demeanor, and work well independently and within a team environment.

ENVIRONMENTAL / WORKING CONDITIONS

Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, 1st, 2nd and/or 3rd shifts. Ability to work in temperature conditions between 35 and 95 °F; may occasionally exceed 95 °F.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Regularly required to stand; use hands and fingers in repetitive motion. Frequently required to stand, walk and reach above the head; occasionally required to stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl and talk or hear. Required to lift a minimum of ten (10) lbs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to focus. Exposure to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals and fumes or airborne particles. Noise level ranges from normal office levels to loud factory/warehouse levels.
